Composed of calcium and sodium alginate, it transforms into a soft gel on contact with wound exudate, creating a moist wound environment that supports faster healing while promoting natural autolytic debridement.

This dressing conforms easily to wound contours and is ideal for cavity wounds or difficult-to-dress areas. The larger 10cm x 20cm size is especially suitable for extensive wound coverage, reducing the need for frequent dressing changes.

ActivHeal Alginate is a calcium sodium alginate (80% calcium and 20% sodium) that contains both guluronic and mannuronic acid. Guluronic acid maintains the integrity of the dressing which ensures the dressing can be removed from the wound in one piece with minimal residues. Mannuronic acid is highly absorbent which means that the dressing can be used on heavily exuding wounds.

ActivHeal Alginate is indicated for the wound management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds that are granulating or with areas of slough such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, cavity wounds, skin donor sites, abrasions and lacerations, post surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers and superficial and partial thickness burns.
