Overview

Alivecor Kardia Mobile [Pack of 1]

The AliveCor Kardia Mobile is one of the most popular, clinically proven mobile ECG monitors on the market. Suitable for home or professional use the Kardia Mobile is used extensively throughout the NHS. Recommended by Cardiologists for AFib detection its peace of mind in your pocket.

The Kardia Mobile ECG and Kardia ECG app record heart rhythms along with symptoms, lifestyle activities and medications on a smartphone or tablet. The Kardia Mobile ECG comes with an attachment plate and an adhesive pad that can be used to attach the monitor directly to your mobile device, or mobile device case.

However, the Kardia will also work if not attached to the device as long as it is approximately 20cms from the device microphones. The Kardia communicates wirelessly with the app on your phone or tablet with no pairing required.

To record an ECG, just hold the Kardia in your hands for 30 seconds to measure your heart's electrical activity anytime, anywhere - no probes or wires are necessary. ECGs are stored in the app which at the end of the recording displays the ECG trace, heart rate and classifies the recording into 1 of 4 categories.

  • Atrial Fibrillation. The clinically validated algorithm will notify you to the presence of atrial fibrillation. If AF is detected, you will see the message "Possible AF Detected."
  • Normal. If no abnormalities are detected, you will receive the message 'Normal'. This means that the heart rate is between 50 and 100 BPM, there are no or very few abnormal beats, and the shape, timing, and duration of each beat is considered normal.
  • Unclassified. An 'Unclassified' message means that the sensors could not classify your ECG recording as 'Normal', 'Unreadable' or 'AF'. There could be many reasons for this. The most common is simply that the heart rate exceeds 100 bpm. Other abnormalities which been detected in the ECG recording, may also give an 'Unclassified' result.
  • Unreadable. 'Unreadable' implies that there was too much interference during this recording. This could be electrical or sound interference.

The free Kardia Basic App stores the last ECG recording on the device and gives instant ECG analysis. When using the Kardia Basic App the last recorded ECG can be printed or e-mailed as a PDF directly from the mobile device.

The Kardia Premium App has additional features including unlimited storage and printing of multiple ECGs, weight and medication tracking and a historical view of heart health data. A free 30 day trial of the Premium App is included. After 30 days if you wish to continue with the Premium App the cost is £9.99 per month. If you don't want to continue with the Premium App you can revert to the Basic App and continue using your Kardia Mobile without any monthly charge.

The single internal coin cell battery in the Kardia Mobile should last for approximately 1 year of normal use assuming 2-3 recordings a day.

The App is available in the Apple App Store or via Google Play in the UK and Ireland.

Why should Clinicians use Kardia Mobile?

  • Proven: Kardia Mobile’s single lead ECG is comparable to Lead 1 of a standard ECG machine, and the most clinically validated mobile ECG solution available. Clinical research references are available on request.
  • Practical and time-saving: Looking for fast, accurate ECG screening? Kardia Mobile captures rate-and-rhythm and determines whether a confirmatory 12-lead ECG is necessary in just 30 seconds.
  • Proactive: Patients can self-administer an ECG whenever they feel symptoms or on a schedule you recommend - giving you a more complete picture of your patients’ heart activity.
  • Patient-friendly: Five-star approval rating from independent Feefo customer reviews. Patients who self-test and detect normal sinus rhythm report increased peace of mind, which may reduce the need for physician visits.
