BD VACUTAINER SODIUM CITRATE COAGULATION, 13CM X 75CM, 2.7ML, BLUE CAP [PACK OF 100]

Contains buffered trisodium citrate solution. BD™ Vacutainer™ Citrate Tube contains an anticoagulant additive equivalent to 3.2% trisodium citrate for coagulation investigations. It is also suitable for carrying out special test procedures, such as the platelet function test PFA-100.

Trisodium citrate works as an anticoagulant by forming complexes with metal ions such as calcium, thereby inhibiting the coagulation cascade. Anticoagulation with trisodium citrate is reversible. The blood to additive ratio is 9:1.

BD Vacutainer™ Citrate Tubes are available in glass or Plus PET, both with blue Hemogard closures.

• Glass tubes are not recommended for centrifugation at more than 2200 g in a swing-out rotor (1300 g for a fixed angle rotor), and so may not be appropriate for use with platelet free plasma
