PDS ™ PLUS (Antiseptic Coated Polydioxanone) is a monofilament synthetic absorbable suture material used for soft tissue approximation and ligation in general surgery, abdominal surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, urology.
The suture is indicated for tissue suturing when long-term support of the wound with absorbable suture is required: fascia, aponeurosis, etc.
Complete resorption of the PDS ™ PLUS suture in a surgical wound occurs within 182-238 days. Like other synthetic absorbable sutures, it decreases the tensile strength over time in the wound.
PDS ™ PLUS threads are coated with IRGACARE ™ (triclosan). The PDS ™ PLUS suture has a zone of inhibition of the growth of bacteria, which are factors in the development of infection of the surgical site.
