What is the ROM walker boot?
After an injury, such as a sprain or fracture, or after surgery, the ROM walker boot is designed to support the ankle. The boot differs from a standard walker boot in that the dial lock hinges allow you to alter the ROM (range of motion):
- Dorsiflexion limitation at: 0°,7.5°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 37.5°, 45
- Plantarflexion limitation at: 0°,7.5°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 37.5°, 45°
- Immobilization limitation at 0°,7.5°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 37.5°, 45°
Who would this be suitable for:
Anyone who has had an ankle sprain or a fracture of the fibula, talus, calcaneus, or medial malleolus, or who has undergone ligament or soft tissue surgery, or who has had a forefoot or midfoot injury.
What does the boot aim to help?
Its purpose is to allow the user to walk more normally while lowering foot pressure. A pleasant gait is also aided by the rocker bottom design. There are also adjustable straps to ensure that the user gets a perfect fit. The boot is also made of a lightweight material that is extremely robust, allowing it to be worn comfortably throughout the day.
