The catheter is made from radioopaque, biocompatible FEP. Thanks to the physical properties and the reduced thickness of the catheter the flow rate is optimised.
The quality of the bevel of the internal needle ensures a precise incision.
The perfectly tapered catheter tip allows the catheter to enter the vein without causing any venous trauma and an easy placement of the catheter. In this way the comfort of the patient is guaranteed. The optimal bevel/catheter tip distance reduces the risk of passing through the vein.
The wings ensure easy fixation of the catheter. The EN/ISO coloured hub of the SURFLO®-W with wings confirms the catheter size.
The injection port allows the intermittent injection of medicines during infusion. A protective cap using EN/ISO colour coding ensures reliable closure and avoids the risk of contamination. The injection port is latex free.
The flashback chamber is transparent for easy detection of the flashback.
The microporous hydrophobic filter, by allowing the passage of air, ensures reliable closure to avoid any risk of contamination. The Luer Lock cap allows the extremity of the catheter to be closed after withdrawal of the internal needle.
A Luer Lock obturator with the same colour code as the catheter is available for each gauge (except gauge 26). This prevents the formation of clots in the lumen of the catheter due to any interrupted use.
