What is the purpose of the wrist splint with aluminium stays?

This wrist brace is intended to stabilise and immobilise the wrist joint in order to prevent additional injury while also allowing it to heal. In addition, the support protects the wrist, and the aluminium stays retain the hand in a fixed position, preventing unwanted movement.
